Disabled Living Foundation – Trusted Assessor Training Accredited Courses

Starting over 20 years ago, Disabled Living Foundation (DLF) has been a leading provider of Trusted Assessor Training since its inception. Following extensive consultation and testing they have now redesigned their courses to meet the needs of today’s learners. These practical, hands-on training courses are nationally accredited by the Open College Network; to provide training for community staff in the assessment, fitting and use of daily living equipment. Accredited staff are able to work with the public to assess and recommend suitable equipment enabling.

Level One Trusted Advisor
To give confidence to customer service staff to provide advice and referral options for basic daily living aids, understand common conditions and have knowledge of health and social care services available.

Level Two Trusted Assessor
This option is designed for drivers, handy-people or technicians who do not currently prescribe equipment as their main role. The course covers minor adaptations such as raised toilet seats and grab rails and teaches the learner to recognise an equipment need and how to measure for these.

Level Three Trusted Assessor
Aimed at therapy assistants, OTs and social workers who typically already assess for minor aids. The learner will feel more confident in holistic assessment and the measurement and prescription of minor aids.

Level Four Trusted Assessor
OTs and more experienced trusted assessors will find this course an excellent next step. They will learn how to measure and prescribe stair lifts, level access showers and ramps.
